Our Work Homelessness Prevention Bristol Goods Bristol Goods is a food-led service for people at risk of homelessness. For a small membership fee, our pop-up community food clubs provide nutritious food enabling members’ weekly budgets to go further. The positive impact of good food is enhanced by the advice and support that Bristol Goods provides. Trained staff from our Early Doors service and partner agencies regularly offer information on housing, energy bills, mental health, and always responding to changing needs. Bristol Goods has created a food project where community connections and peer support help people experiencing similar barriers. What our beneficiaries say: "It has made it affordable and easier to eat healthily....I’ve had some good advice on housing rights." “Attending the food club has also connected me with vital support beyond food. I’ve been able to speak with Jess, the Early Doors Housing Rights Support Worker, who has given me really helpful advice about my housing." We want our Bristol Goods members to have choice, dignity, and greater control over their weekly budget. Our pop-up shops enable people to select from a range of ambient goods, and fresh fruit and vegetables. We’re mindful of energy costs, and provide foods and recipe ideas that take less energy to cook. Our volunteers, often coming from the neighbourhoods served by Bristol Goods, help to create a strong community environment where mutual support can be flourish. We know that the journey away from homelessness can be difficult. That’s why we connect members to specialist advice, relevant information, and resources that can help them overcome challenges and get things back on track.
